Power System microtherm 6024gpi

Control Unit Description

The plot (see image below) shows a set of data graphically. It is actualized every 0.6 seconds, thus showing always the latest mearurements of the system. The main values are battery voltage, inverter and generator current.

There is a memory in the inverter that stores, as long as the inverter is on, every 2 seconds a set of values and parameters. These values can be diplayed at any time on the screen.

All stored data, as well as the adjusted parameters, are also accessible remotely via telephone.

Logging.

In this example the battery voltage (red) and the inverter current (blue) are to be seen.

An electric heater was two times switched on and off. At first the half power switch position was selected, the second time the full power, after 30 seconds back to half power.

This electric heater surges a very high current for the first seconds. You can see also the battery voltage drop and the recovery within a minute.

If you would like to start a big pump or another motor, you can see from a plot like this why the inverter is not able to start it. The surge current might be 10 times higher than the nominal current. In that case use the three phase output and the problem is solved.

Selection of the plot parameters

These graphs represent the stored data. On the left hand side you can see again the graphs from above, now in a 2 second rate instead of 0.6.

The black vertical line marks the shut down time of the inverter. The respective times (15:06/15:34) are shown in the top right hand corner.

By means of the "up-down" button (top left) you can go further back in history. More than two hours of data are stored. As data are logged only during inverter working times, the very first data can originate from a day many months ago.

Many more data can be recalled.

Here you see additionally the ripple volts, that is the voltage, which is measured in the moment, when no current flows (don't care, that is AC theory). This voltage is a better means to estimate the real battery voltage. This measure is used to estimate the stop voltage as well as the low battery cut out.

The difference between the two voltages (black and red) is an indicator for the battery life expectation. In case this difference is much larger than in the beginning, when the battery was new, then the batteries are probably at the end of their life time.

A very small battery will show here a rather large difference. That can be normal and depends only on the particular application for which the system is used.
